More Dragonflies

Share Post:

If you haven’t figured it out yet, I love dragonflies. I created two more and really like the workflow and result here. These were created in Procreate and in fact I only created half of the dragonfly because I knew I could just duplicate it to create the other half once I brought it into Adobe Illustrator.

Working in Procreate makes it much easier to create something like this as opposed to using pen and paper because you can separate the different colors you want to vectorize using layers in Procreate. The only way you could accomplish that using real art materials is to draw using tracing paper or on a lightbox.

The frilly leaves were also created in Procreate and the textured background was actually a photograph of a wall that I brought into Adobe Capture and vectorized.
